D´Ilhas beach. It is a place where, for a few moments of the year, the elements of nature come into harmony creating the most beautiful environment. At these moments, the sky distributes its colors across the sea waves, the beach sand, the hill and everywhere, transforming this place titled as a “World Surfing Reserve” into the perfect paradise.

This work represents the change of actitud of the inhabitants of the Azores islands regarding Sperm whales. The same ones, which were once hunted by the oil industry,
are now protected and admired.
This painting symbolically proposes the human vision that contemplates the universe in a process of evolution of its own culture. Achieving to look at the beings of nature, in this case the Sperm whale, as a divine and universal being. With greater sensitivity when recognizing their importance and right to live. The Sun and Moon are moving apart at the end of an eclipse, which represents a new, more open and clear view of things. The tears resulting from this process mix in space with the movement of the stars and the elements of the cosmos, where the archipelago of Azores is presented as a group of star constellations.
